Natalie Wigle, LCSWA

General Outreach Coordinator

Staff Counselor

Natalie Wigle received her BSW and MSW here at ETSU and holds her LCSW license. Her journey as a helping professional began in China, where she grew up. Her passion for connection, and understanding culture and how it impacts our self-conceptualization and world view, led her to social work. Her journey continued while working in international disaster relief in Haiti and with victims of human trafficking in Amsterdam. Most recently, she has worked with youth and families in the foster care system, providing individual and family counseling. Natalie utilizes a Humanistic and Existential theoretical orientation with clients, believing in a strengths-based, client-centered approach where the therapeutic alliance is highlighted and utilized as a foundation for self-exploration. This framework of practice allows Natalie to engage clients in their search for meaning and exercising their self-determination. Natalie’s approach emphasizes the interconnectedness between mind, body and spirit, as well as how environment, past experiences, and trauma can play an active role in our present lives. She uses an eclectic blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy to aid clients in formulating and reaching their goals, reducing feelings of anxiety and depression, working through trauma or grief; all in pursuit of a more peace-filled existence. Natalie enjoys spending her free time exploring the beautiful mountains in East TN with her dogs, traveling as much as she can, taking in live shows and embracing the concept of the “Bed Picnic.”
