More about Rebecca
Rebecca Alexander, L.M.F.T.
Associate Director of Clinical Services
Rebecca received her BA in English Literature at University of Vermont & her MA in Couples & Family Counseling here at ETSU. Both highlight her lifelong fascination with human nature – the struggle, joy, grief, love and confusion that we all experience individually and in relationship. In her therapeutic approach, she uses existential, systems, & positive psychology models to support students discover their own sense of identity, purpose, meaning, happiness and thriving. She is currently excited about the field of ecopsychology, which explores how time in nature supports our health and well-being. Her favorite quotes are “Tell me, what it is you plan to do with your one wild & precious life?” (Mary Oliver) and “It is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick [system].” (Krishnamurti).
In her personal time, Rebecca can be found outside wandering the Appalachian Trail and traveling off the grid to remote parts of the world whenever possible.
