Math and Science Clubs for Middle School
Chi Alpha Mu (Mathletes) is open to grades 4-8
Mathletes just recently competed in the Mathematical Assocation of America's AMC8 competition (grades 6-8).

This is a friendly reminder that Mathletes will meet on Monday, February 11th from 3:15-4:00pm in room 207. Grades 5-8 will be practicing for the MathCon competition on February 25th, while 4th grade continues with Math Olympiad practice.
Mathletes will also meet on Monday, February 25th from 3:15-4:00. Students in grades 5-8 will complete the test for the MathCon Competition, and fourth graders will work on Math Olympiad. The MathCon test is administered online and will be timed. You may find more information at www.mathcon.org
A new list of quarter 4 dates will be sent out before spring break.

Third quarter dates for our meetings after we return from winter intersession:
*Monday, January 28
*Tuesday, January 29
Monday, February 11
**Monday, February 25
*These two January meetings will be the MathCounts competition at the school level. This competition determines which students will move ahead to the chapter competition, which could then result to competing at the state level. MathCounts is for grades 6-8 only.
*Students in grades 4-5 may attend on Monday, January 28 for Math Olympiad training.
**February 25 will be the MathCon competition. All students in grades 5-8 may compete. Students in 4th grade may attend the meeting for Math Olympiad training.
Science Club is open to grades 6-8
Students in the science club should be interested in entering the ETSU Science Fair.

The ETSU Science Fair has been scheduled for Saturday, March 23rd.
