The Multicultural Center sponsors diverse student organizations that bring a sense of belonging and community for our students.

Black Affairs Association
Black Affairs is an organization that is open to all students at the university. This organization serves as a source of encouragement for students to become involved invarious campus-wide activities. The primary purpose of the organization is to provide a wholesome and supportive environment where students of color are able to interact and participate in activities together. The Black Affairs Association sponsors many major events and activities throughout the year, such as Homecoming, an annual Comedy Show, and Open Mic. This group has many outstanding achievements, including awards in multicultural and social programming for the campus. -
Chinese Student and Scholars Association
The Chinese Student and Scholar Association at ETSU (CSSA @ ETSU), is a student organization aiming to promote social, cultural, and academic activities among our members. Our members are mostly, but not limited to, students and scholars who have shared roots in China. -
Gospel Choir
The Gospel Choir is a very diverse organization lead by its elected student executive board. It is open to all students and offers the opportunity to serve the community through voluntary work and singing, displaying their talents on campus, as well as surrounding areas throughout Tennessee and the bordering states, spreading the word of God. -
International Choir
The International choir brings together students from diverse backgrounds around the globe to sing as one. Through the unifying power of music, the choir touches lives on campus, throughout Tennessee and the surrounding areas with inspirational music. -
International Student Association
The International Student Association brings together students from different countries to promote awareness of cultural diversity and global understanding within the university and the broader Johnson City community. The association strives to represent the voice of the entire international student body and to provide support and assistance for international students in their transitions to the United States by creating a welcoming environment. ISA serves as a platform for both international students and domestic students to engage in various social activities and cultural events throughout the year that facilitate the formation of strong, special international bonds of friendship that last beyond borders and forever after. -
Shades of Africa
Shades of Africa, is a student organization that is interested in uniting African students and non-African students by facilitating interaction through activities and events. We seek to create cultural awareness, social and scholarly growth of African students. This organization promotes an understanding of the diverse African cultures that are present on the campus. SOA encourages the ability to commune and share diverse cultures, resulting in strength, growth and awareness, breaking down stereotypes and fostering an atmosphere of understanding and mutual respect. -
Asian American Student Association
The Asian American Student Association's purpose is to foster a Pan-Asian community and create support systems for minorities on campus. AASA also aim to educate others on the different Asian cultures and move beyond established stereotypes. AASA hopes to accomplish this through celebrating Asian heritage, exploring different AAPI identities/cultures, discussing individual experiences, etc. -
Hispanic American Student Community Alliance
The purpose of this organization is to encourage and facilitate the interaction of Hispanic and non-Hispanic students through fellowship, leadership, and community service in order to foster better understanding, friendship, and support on campus as well as in the local community. -
Kompa Dance Club
The purpose of this organization is to promote the Kompa dance style, and culture, and to provide a fun and welcoming environment for all students interested in learning about and participating in Kompa dance. -
Native American Student Organization
The mission of this organisation is to provide participants with a greater understanding and appreciation of Indigenous American culture. -
National Association of Colored Women's Club Inc. Women of Knowledge and Excellence (W.O.K.E)
National Association of Colored Women's Club Inc. Women of Knowledge and Excellence (W.O.K.E) Chapter is a community service organization, empowering women dedicated to intellectual growth and achievement. We celebrate the strength and resilience of women from diverse backgrounds, highlights the importance of education and wisdom, and reflects a commitment to excellence. Together, we inspire women to make a meaningful impact in their communities while uplifting and supporting one another. -
South Asian Student Association
The East Tennessee State University South Asian Students Association (SASA) is a multicultural organization for students who identify as South Asian or are interested in learning about South Asia. This organization was formed to meet the social and cultural needs of our members while simultaneously promoting diversity and cultural exchange within the broader ETSU community. -
Ladies of Elegance
Ladies of Elegance aims to promote academic success, a sense of community among its members, and the beauty of dance through a range of programs, performances, and events. The foundation for a vibrant and fulfilling experience is provided by these rules, which emphasize cultural celebration, leadership, and accountability for all members of the ETSU community. -
The ROOTS
The Roots at East Tennessee State University is dedicated to fostering a supportive and enriching environment for incoming to upper-class African undergraduates. The Roots is a vibrant and inclusive student organization committed to nurturing a sense of belonging for African students at ETSU. The organization functions as a welcoming community where members can explore, celebrate, and share the diverse aspects of African heritage. We prioritize creating a safe space that not only addresses the specific needs and concerns of African students but also serves as an educational platform for all members of the university community.
