A Message from the Chair
East Tennessee State University has a rich history and an inextricable link with this region. It is our obligation to clearly understand the important role of serving others and reaching out to our students, faculty, staff and members of this region and beyond.
The future of ETSU will be influenced by its history, ritual, traditions and symbols. The critical question is how each of these elements of ETSU's culture is perceived by the campus community and by constituencies, perhaps, not yet identified. In other words, when we speak, what is the message ,how is it heard, and are we reaching the intended audience? The Culture and Outreach Task Force will be looking to the future with an eye on ETSU's successful and impressive 100-year history. We are looking forward to taking the ideas and suggestions received from our campus community to consider who we are as an institution, our role in the community, and many ways to tell our story.
