
Upper East Tennessee Fiddler's Convention
The Upper East Tennessee Fiddler’s Convention is a traditional fiddler’s convention featuring a square dance on Friday night and competitions all day Saturday along with camping and jam sessions all night. The categories are traditional song, old-time banjo, old-time fiddle, dance, and string band. The top three in each category receive cash prizes in addition to other unique categories and prizes.
The Upper East Tennessee Fiddler’s Convention is a collaboration between Rocky Fork State Park and ETSU’s Department of Appalachian Studies, with support from the Tennessee Arts Commission.
Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Country Music Studies Events
-Band Placement Auditions - Thursday, 8/22/2022, 12:00 P.M. (noon). Any student who is registering for band class for the first time will need to attend the band placement auditions. Arrive 10 - 15 minutes early to register. Be prepared to play a short piece of your choosing to be no more than 2 minutes, i.e., a verse and chorus. Call 423-439-7072 with any questions.
