About the Institute:
The Regional Resources Institute (RRI) stands at the forefront of advancing the mission of the Center for Appalachian Studies and Services. As the administrative and outreach arm of the Center, the RRI plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academic excellence and community engagement. By fostering collaboration and promoting innovative research, the Institute ensures that the unique challenges and opportunities of the Appalachian region are addressed with purpose and insight.
A cornerstone of the RRI’s work lies in its ability to build meaningful partnerships. By connecting ETSU departments with community organizations, the Institute creates a powerful network of collaboration that amplifies the impact of its initiatives. These partnerships not only deepen the understanding of Appalachian culture and history but also drive forward-looking strategies to meet the region's evolving needs.
Beyond fostering connections, the RRI is committed to empowering communities across Appalachia. Through consulting and outreach services, it supports sustainable development efforts that enhance the quality of life for the people who call this region home. Whether addressing economic growth, environmental stewardship, or cultural preservation, the Institute is a champion for the resilience and vitality of Appalachian communities.
