Admissions
An incoming student may enter the Honors Program with a high school GPA of 3.2 and one of the following: an ACT score of 28 in English, an SAT Critical Reading score of 620, or an AP score of 4 in English.
A currently enrolled ETSU student with less than 30 hours may enter with a B+ in ENGL 1010 (or ENGL 1018) and an overall 3.2 in the first semester, or with the recommendation of the instructor in English 1010/1018.
A currently enrolled ETSU student with 30 or more hours may enter with a 3.3 average in all English courses and a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 for 30-45 hours, a minimum overall GPA of 3.15 for 46-60 hours, or a minimum overall GPA of 3.25 for 61+ hours.
A transfer student with less than 60 hours may enter with a B+ transfer credit for an equivalent of ENGL 1010 and/or 1020 (a B+ average if the student transfers both) and a 3.2 overall GPA.
A transfer student with more than 60 hours may enter the program with a 3.3 average in English courses and a 3.25 overall.
