CUTTING EDGE RESEARCH AND HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE

As far as he knows, Alson Ovando is the only Belizean to ever pursue paleontology as a career path and the only one to work in the field of vertebrate paleontology.

“What we're finding in my research is that the ecosystems of Belize are hundreds of thousands of years old, and this is the first time the world will be learning about what life was like in Belize during the Pleistocene. It’s going to be a whole world of new knowledge and opportunities I need to share with my country, and that’s what I want for my life’s career.”
