Doctor of Education
Administrative Endorsement
The Ed.D. concentration in Administrative Endorsement prepares candidates for licensure
as a school principal, specifically the Instructional Leader License-Beginning (ILL-B).
This qualifies graduates to serve as school principals, assistant principals, and
supervisors in various capacities. Graduates will exit the program with knowledge
of leadership, change theory, school law, curriculum development, data analysis, and
strategic planning. Successful completion of this program, a minimum of three years
successful teaching experience, and the state required assessment lead to the Tennessee
Instructional Leader-Beginning license. Candidates who apply to the Ed.D. can earn
the Ed.S. enroute to the Ed.D.
