Scholarship in the Division of Gastroenterology
The Division of Gastroenterology specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases
affecting the alimentary tract, pancreas and liver. The division has a wide range
of attendings with special interests in swallowing disorders, severe liver disease,
gastrointestinal bleeding, atypical chest pain, and hepatitis C. Special expertise
in endoscopic procedures include all aspects of therapeutic endoscopy including cholangioscopy,
argon plasma coagulation for control of gastrointestinal bleeding and stenting for
benign and malignant biliary and alimentary tract disease. Longitudinal outpatient
care is provided for inflammatory bowel disease, chronic hepatitis, irritable bowel
syndrome and swallowing disorders.
Our Faculty and Fellows publish scholarly activity that involves clinical research
aimed at improving gastrointestinal clinical care.
