Rashid Mahboob, MD, earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Columbia University in New York, NY. Dr. Mahboob completed his fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.
Dr. Mahboob plays an active role in the training of medical students and residents here at the Quillen College of Medicine. A large part of his practice involves the treatment of diabetes. Dr. Mahboob enjoys working with diabetic patients and helping them stay in control of their condition. Whether the patient is using an insulin pump or managing their diabetes with injections or medications, he believes that communication and trust is important. Besides helping patients manage diabetes, Dr. Mahboob discovered he valued treating patients with other health issues, such as thyroid diseases, cancer, osteoporosis, bone diseases and pituitary disorders.
