Cooler weather is moving into the Appalachian Highlands. That means there is no better time to enjoy some of East Tennessee State University’s inviting indoor locations to take in a show or performance.

This November, there are more than a dozen arts-related events happening on the campus of ETSU, which is home to a thriving arts community.

Take a look: 

Department of Music

The ETSU Brass Ensemble will give a recital on Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
Catch the ETSU Orchestra on Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
Percussion students are set to perform on Nov. 5 at 5 p.m. 
A voice recital is scheduled for Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
Tate and Taylor Bowles give their brass recital on Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
On Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m., Alexander McMurray will hold a trombone recital. 
Trumpet students have their recital on Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. 
A tuba and euphonium recital is planned for Nov. 12 at 5 p.m.
On Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m., trombone students will give a recital. 
A second voice recital happens Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. 
The ETSU Wind Ensemble and Concert Band give their final performance of the semester on Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Student Megan Quillen has a Nov. 18 recital at 5 p.m.
On Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m., piano students will hold a recital. 
A woodwind recital is scheduled for Nov. 19 at 2 p.m.
Flute students give their recital on Nov. 19 at 5 p.m.
Happening Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. is a clarinet recital
Brass faculty will hold a recital on Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m.

Theatre and Dance

Enjoy “James and the Giant Peach” running Nov. 16-19. 

Reece Museum

“Ballet in Appalachia: 75 Years with Bristol Ballet” is open to the public through June 2024.
The 11th annual “FL3TCH3R Exhibit: Social and Politically Engaged Art” is on display through Dec. 8.
Catch “An Exuberant Spirit: The Sammie L. Nicely Collection,” which has been extended until Dec. 21

ETSU Art Galleries

Trapped in Forever Smile: Fiber Installations” is on display until Nov. 3.
Running through Nov. 24 is “Adapted/Adopted: Journey of Asianx Women.”
BFA Studio Art Exhibitions runs Nov. 6-22
The BA Senior Exhibition starts Nov. 27.
Beginning Nov. 30 is the BFA Graphic Design Exhibitions.  

ETSU Martin Center for the Arts

Comedian, singer, and actor Rodney Carrington will perform at the Martin Center on Nov. 16.
The Grammy Award-winning folk-rock duo Indigo Girls is coming to the Martin Center on Nov. 17.

Bud Frank Theatre

“Frankenstein,” a National Theatre Live performance, is set for Nov. 5.

Bluegrass, Old-Time and Roots Music Studies

        A mountain square dance is scheduled for Nov. 8

Nov. 18 marks the Boones Creek Opry ETSU Extravaganza



        GRAMMY winner Tim Stafford gives an artist-in-residence showcase on Nov. 15
