About the Team
We welcome students, faculty and staff, and community members to become part of our team of volunteers. We conduct training sessions as needed to teach our volunteers what they need to know about the various volunteer positions, as well as safety and security.
Volunteers play a vital role in the success of our programming. Our volunteers help: by serving as ushers, and ticket scanners; with patron services, office tasks and hospitality; distributing marketing materials; and with a variety of other tasks essential to the program.
We consider our volunteers to be part of our public relations team and rely on them to give the gracious professional service that makes our patrons feel cared for and comfortable.
Requirements
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and must complete all required volunteer forms and training. Desired traits include: excellent communication and people skills, awareness and sensitivity when working with a diverse group of people, a positive attitude and willingness to take direction, reliability and punctuality – and above all, a love of the arts! Opportunities for volunteers are provided without regard to religion, creed, race, national origin, age, gender or disability.
Training
We consider every applicant in terms of their availability, capability and interests. We provide all the training needed for each volunteer position, facility policies and safety and security, and we are careful to ensure that all our volunteers feel comfortable in their assigned roles.
