Middle School Honoree – Dhruv Ramu (6th Grade)

Dhruv always works hard and is engaged in our SEL classes. Dhruv has a very positive attitude and exemplifies wonderful character. He is respectful, kind, and always ready to learn! Dhruv is a true leader in the classroom. Dhruv is one of the most polite and friendly students we have in 6th grade. He greets his classmates, teachers, and other students in the hallway every morning. He is always saying, "good morning,” asking, "How are you doing today?" and saying, "I hope you have a great day today." His kindness and friendliness is contagious and brightens everyone's day.
Dr. Kelli shared that he volunteers to sharpen pencils for her 3rd grade students in the afternoons so that they are ready for class the next day.

Getting to know Dhruv:

  • Do you have a secret talent?

“My talent is golf.  I play with my dad at Blackthorn.  My dad teaches me; he’s helped me get better.  My favorite part is hitting the ball and getting it in the hole.  Once, I chipped in from like 40 or 50 yards away.”

  • What's the one item you can't live without?

“I would not want to live without pizza.  Its my favorite food.  I like it with the white sauce.”

  • What teacher has made the greatest impact on you as a student?

“I’d probably say Mrs. Lamb.  She was my kindergarten teacher.  We would paint, write, and read.  I liked to read then and still do.  I read a lot of non-fiction.”

"Dhruv's kindness and cheerfulness is a bright spot in 6th grade," shared his 6th grade Math teacher, Mrs. Pratt. "You can always find Dhruv greeting students and teachers, not just in his class, with a smile and a, 'Good morning! I hope you have a great day today!'. Dhruv happily volunteers to help his peers anytime there is a need. We love Dhruv's leadership of kindness to all." Added Ms. Barrett, school counselor: "Dhruv is a model of the golden rule, he treats others the way he would like to be treated. He works hard and tries his best in the classroom! I am proud of all of Dhruv's hard work, and willingness to learn."
