Ranks University School 9th Best High School In the State of Tennessee.The following is taken from the US News and World Report Website :
High school students in Tennessee are tested in English, math, biology, chemistry and U.S. history. To graduate, Tennessee high school students must earn 22 credits in various subjects, including three credits in social studies, according to the Tennessee Department of Education.
There are 347 Tennessee schools honored in the 2019 U.S. News Best High Schools rankings.
University School is ranked ninth within Tennessee. Students have the opportunity
to take Advanced Placement® coursework and exams. The AP® participation rate at University
School is 56%. The total minority enrollment is 12%. University School is 1 of 4 high
schools in the Washington County.

ETSU University School ranked ninth in Tennessee by U.S. News

University School was recently ranked as the ninth best high school in Tennessee by
U.S. News & World Report in its “Best High Schools” listing.
Located on the campus of East Tennessee State University, University School is the
only school in Northeast Tennessee ranked in the top 10 and is also the highest ranked
school east of Chattanooga.
“We are so proud of the accomplishments our students are making each day in the classrooms, in their organizations, in their community, and on the athletic fields,” Ariane Day, interim director of University School, said in a Tuesday press release.
“It is such an honor for University School to be recognized at this level, and much credit goes to our faculty and staff for all they do to provide exceptional instruction and to support our students.”
According to U.S. News, rankings were determined based on performance on state assessments and on how well the schools prepare students for college. University School is one of 347 schools in Tennessee listed in the rankings.
