Epsilon Sigma at-Large Chapter Research Day 2022
Epsilon Sigma at-Large Chapter Research Day 2022 is right around the corner! Please consider sharing your work with either a poster presentation, podium presentation, or both! Please share this information with your students and encourage them to submit an abstract. Our Sigma President is Ken Dion and his Presidential Call to Action is Be Bold! So, let's answer that call nurses with moxie and determination to disseminate our work, as we have much to learn from one another.
We are hosting our conference this Spring on Thursday April 14, 2022, at Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tennessee in the Foundation Room. This is a hybrid event, and so we will have a Zoom link available for those who wish to attend virtually.

**Registration is free. **CNEs are available, however registrants must be present at each session to earn the hours allotted for them.

Research Award Grant Application
Epsilon Sigma Research Award Grant Application
Maximum Award Amount: $500 for one year
A maximum of five awards will be given. One faculty/students from each of the four institutions and one community grant
Submission Deadline: Rolling deadline
Eligibility and Requirements
- Active member of Epsilon Sigma At-Large Chapter
- Research is a combined submission by one faculty member and one student. One competitive grant will be given to a faculty/student dyad from each of the universities (Milligan, King University, Lincoln Memorial University, and East Tennessee State University).
- One competitive grant will be issued to an individual chapter member conducting non-student-led research
Format for Submission:
Written materials to be submitted include:
- Proposal (limited to 6 pages, double spaced and typed in 12 point font with 1 inch margins, excluding title page, reference list and letters of support)
- Title page with name or credentials
- 200 word abstract
- Statement of the problem
- Purpose of the study
- Significance of the project to the mission of STTI, the profession, and the health of the population
- Short selected literature review
- Research question/s or hypotheses to be tested
- Methodology
- research design and approach
- sample, sampling procedures and setting
iii. instruments
- data collection procedures
- plan for analysis of data
- plan for protection of human participants
vii. timetable
- Budget and budget justification (travel, supplies, personnel)
- Reference list (APA format)
- Proposal Submission Form
- Letter of support from data collection site (if applicable)

Chapter Awards
Chapter Awards C h a p t e r A w a r d s Dr. Greta Marek and Dr. Kendrea Todt Marek, G, & Todt, K. (2020) Impact of COVID-19 Educational Disruptions on BSN NCLEX Performance. Epsilon Sigma at-Large Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International, Chapter Research Grant. $500.00 awarded Summer 2020. Dr. Judy McCook Abstract, titled “Should Our Approach for Reducing Poor Birth Outcomes Differ in Urban and Rural Populations?” accepted at the Sigma Theta Tau International's 28th International Nursing Research Congress in Dublin, Ireland this summer. Dr. McCook, Dr. Knowles, and Dr. Neal Each received a $1,750 grant from the STTI Epsilon Sigma at-Large chapter to support their professional development at the STTI 28th International Nursing Research Congress in Dublin, Ireland Dr. Tese Stephens Awarded a $500 grant to use toward her research on resilience
