Dual Degree Program Details

Our Dual Degree track is designed for students currently enrolled in an ADN track who desire to get a jumpstart on their BSN coursework. To begin, students are simultaneously enrolled at the Community College and ETSU while still completing their ADN coursework. Upon graduation from the ADN track students transition seamlessly into the RN to BSN track and complete the remainder of the nursing coursework for earning the BSN degree. General education requirements (as noted in the catalog) can be completed at any time during the student progression within the RN to BSN track. The track admits once per academic year in the Summer semester. The coursework in the Dual Degree/RN to BSN track is 100% asynchronous online with the exception of NRSE 4026 R.N. Practicum which is taken in the final semester of the track. Applicants should seek individual advisement prior to applying to the Dual Degree track as progression in the track varies based upon the semester in which the student graduates from their respective ADN track. Upon graduation with the AND, students must pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to be eligible to progress into RN to BSN track. The BSN degree is awarded after successful completion of all nursing and general education coursework. Dual Degree Dual Degree Curriculum

Our Dual Degree track is designed for licensed Registered Nurses desiring to complete the BSN degree. The track is a 3-semester continuous enrollment track. General education requirements (as noted in the catalog) can be completed at any time during the student progression within the Dual Degree track. The track admits once per academic year in the Summer semester. The coursework in the Dual Degree track is 100% asynchronous online with the exception of NRSE 4026 R.N. Practicum which is taken in the final semester of the track. Eligible new graduates from an Associate Degree RN Track are allowed to complete one semester of BSN nursing courses prior to obtaining licensure as a RN, but must pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) within the 1st semester of the track. The BSN degree is awarded after successful completion of all nursing and general education coursework. Graduates are not required to retake the NCLEX-RN upon graduation.
