Course Evaluations & Surveys
Survey for students to evaluate their instructors and courses
In Fall 2020, ETSU began administering and managing course evaluations through a new software system called Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) by Watermark. Access to both the course evaluations and results is accomplished through D2L. Students and faculty will receive notifications regarding course evaluations through email and D2L approximately 3-4 weeks before the end of the term. Emails will specify when the evaluations become available and when they are scheduled to close. Results of these evaluations will not be available to faculty until at least 3 days after final grades are due. Faculty will receive an email letting them know when results become available.
The University takes every precaution to maintain confidentiality of personally identifiable information when processing survey results. Student names and other information are not associated with the surveys at any time. After the survey deadline, all results received for a course section are compiled by Course Evaluations & Surveys into a report. Results for course sections with less than 5 students enrolled are not released to instructors; however, please be mindful that the fewer students there are in a class, the greater the likelihood is that an instructor can identify how a student responded.
Faculty no longer have access to the CourseEval service as the contract has expired.
Both the Tennessee Board of Regents and ETSU require all faculty members with teaching assignments to participate in course evaluations.
