The ETSU Counseling Center provides personal counseling for students. OASIS (Outreach & Advocacy Sexuality Information for Students) is a program of the Counseling Center at East Tennessee State University. OASIS addresses issues of Dating/Relationship Violence, Sexual Violence, Healthy Sexuality/Relationships. OASIS is a program designed to serve students with information, education, training, advocacy, counseling, and referral services. You may also read ETSU's definitions related to sexual misconduct as outlined in university policy.

Despite ETSU's strong interest in having sexual misconduct reported, the university realizes that not every student is prepared to report. We encourage reports of sexual misconduct even if you are not ready to disclose your identity to the university or Public Safety. One way to begin the process is to contact the university Counseling Center for confidential advising.  The Counseling Center is bound by separate laws of confidentiality and will not inform other members of the university of your contact under most circumstances, unless there is an imminent safety concern, or as otherwise required by law. At your request, the counselor will report the incident for inclusion in the annual safety report without relaying any identifying information. In this way, the campus can accurately report the number of sexual assaults which have occurred, protect your right to privacy, and most importantly, address any needs you have resulting from the sexual misconduct.

ETSU takes sexual violence and misconduct very seriously. An anonymous online form is available to report sexual misconduct. This form is used to understand the campus climate at ETSU, to gather information regarding incidences of sexual and dating violence of our students on or around the campus, and to help ETSU staff plan a response to violence in our community. If you know of a violation or wish to report a personal experience, you may fill out and submit the online form  using the Bucs Report It/Silent Witness Form via Public Safety.
