East Tennessee State University supports the rights of students and the campus community to freely express their views in accordance with the First Amendment and the Campus Free Speech Protection Act. ETSU also recognizes its responsbility to develop policies and procedures which safeguard freedom of speech rights while maintaining a campus atmosphere conducive to learning. ETSU has a responsibility to uphold the freedom and rights guaranteed by the First Amendment, but to also maintain a safe learning environment that allows students to grow from their experiences.
