Art Scholarships
The Department of Art & Design has biannual scholarship application deadlines: one in the fall and one in the spring. Information on each deadline is outlined below. To be eligible for these scholarships, you must be a current or incoming Department of Art & Design major.
FALL SEMESTER DEADLINE: October 20 at 11:59 PM
Two scholarships are offered through the Art and Design department every fall semester.
These scholarships are the Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts, Windgate University
Fellows Scholarship, and the Penland School of Craft Steel-Reece Foundation Scholarship.
These scholarships provide funding to take a summer workshop at a craft school. The
application for the Windgate-Lamar faculty nomination is also included in the fall
scholarship deadline. For more information on eligibility and application considerations

SPRING SEMESTER DEADLINE: March 1 at 11:59 PM
The Department of Art & Design offers nine departmental scholarships every spring
semester. These scholarships provide financial awards that are applied toward ETSU
tuition and fees. To help you determine your eligibility, please review the Scholarship
Checklist and the information on each scholarship outlined below. You may apply to
all scholarships for which you are eligible.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FALL & SPRING APPLICATIONS:
All applicants must sign into their ETSU Goldlink account to access the digital application
forms. If you cannot access the form, please email the Scholarship Coordinator at
scholarship_ad@etsu.edu for assistance.

Bert C. Bach Fine & Performing Arts Scholars Program
- ACT of 22 or higher composite (without the writing score) or comparable SAT score
- High School GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 unweighted scale
- Excellent artistic portfolio
- Community and leadership activities
- Writing skill and academic references

- Letter of Recommendation from High School Art Teacher (for incoming Freshman only)

Creative Arts Scholarship
- Eligible only to Out of State, Full Time Art & Design Students, Undergraduate & Graduate (Can be transfer, international. Border county tuition recipients not eligible.)
- Majors Maintain a 3.0 GPA in Art & Design courses and a 2.5 overall GPA
- Majors Provide Service for Two Department Art-Related Events Per Semester
- Minors maintain a 2.50 overall GPA and Provide Service for one Department Art-Related Event Per Semester
- Minimum 1 ARTA/ARTH Course each Semester Max Award 8 Semesters
- Freshman (only) must live on campus and purchase meal plan.
