Teaching Pathway
The Teaching Pathway is a suggested curriculum for students interested in becoming teachers at the secondary school level, and which can lead to careers in areas such as the following (Please click on the links below which provide additional information regarding the appropriate training leading to occupational opportunities in these fields) :
- Middle School Teachers
- High School Teachers
- Curators and Museum Workers
- Adult Literacy and GED Teachers
The secondary education concentration within biology requires 36 credit hours of biology and a minor in secondary education.
Biology Major Requirements (Secondary Education Track)
The following courses offered by the Department of Biological Sciences are suggested by the faculty for those students whose interests are in becoming teachers at the secondary level.
A course is required in each of the menu areas below for the major, but multiple suggestions are offered to reflect the diversity of appropriate courses made available to students by the department.
