Program Overview

• East Tennessee State University’s Department of Physical Therapy offers the fellowship through the ETSU Health Physical Therapy Clinic and local partnerships. 

• The program is either 12 months or 24 months long and prepares the fellow in training for clinical practice in Orthopaedic manual physical therapy. Successful completion of the fellowship qualifies the fellow for fellowship status through the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT)

• Salary is paid through either ETSU or the affiliated clinic

• Clinical experience in various settings, including orthopaedics, sports, primary care, and rural health.  

• Interdisciplinary experience with a variety of different medical providers

• Teaching experiences within the ETSU DPT program

• Variety of mentors with varying backgrounds and specialties

• 150 minimum hours of clinical mentoring

• Onsite weekly coursework related to Orthopaedic manual physical therapy
