Program Overview
A Global Health Track will be offered to residents in all programs.
The program encompasses didactic education, international electives, and domestic clinical and advocacy experiences that foster interest in global health and provide residents with hands-on experience in resource-limited settings. Track members engage in projects that address critical issues in the health of patients in international settings.

Objectives
By participating in this program, you will gain the following knowledge or skills:
- Recognize and interpret the social, cultural, and economic conditions that impact health and health care services in low resource settings in the United States and internationally.
- Prevent, diagnose and treat health conditions common in low resource settings in the United States and internationally.
- Increase cutural awareness, epertise and competency, enhancing your communication with patients and colleagues in the United States and internationally.
- Apply experience in different health care systems to promote equitable and culturally sensitive care for patients, thereby reducing health and health care disparities in medically underserved communities in the United States and internationally.

- Monthly seminar focused on global health issues
- Global Health reading list (required and optional)
- Structured opportunities for rotations/immersion experiences internationally or domestically in low resource settings (e.g., Indian Health Service, clinic serving predominantly Spanish-speaking clients).
- Faculty mentors in all specialty areas prepared to supervise global health projects
- Annual inter-professional Global Health Conference and poster session
