The Global Health Program at the Quillen College of Medicine offers electives in four countries: Kenya, Zambia, Belize and Ecuador as well as many other areas of the world. We offer global health experiences for second, third and fourth year students as well as residents in all speciality areas.
Letter from the Director
Thank you for exploring our Global Health program at ETSU's Quillen College of Medicine. My name is Dr. David Wood and I am the director of the Global Health Program. Valerie Suiter is the Global Health program coordinator. I am passionate about exposing medical students to global health, because global health experiences had a major impact on shaping me as a person and my career in medicine.
Our global health elective can be a life and career changing experience. It takes a lot of preparation and planning for your personally, but also for the hospital or clinic where you will be working. You will benefit greatly from this experience if you thoroughly engage in both the pre-depatrure preparation and the post-elective reflection excercise.
