I joined the faculty of the Quillen College of Medicine in 2000, and I’ve been actively
engaged in many aspects of the College since then. In addition to teaching at both
the medical student and resident levels, I’ve also helped to advance the medical school's
curriculum and served for many years as a residency program director. I earned an
MPH from ETSU in 2011 and then used that new knowledge when I took a one-year leave
of absence from ETSU to work as a medical officer in the vaccine center at FDA. I
used the things I learned from my MPH studies and from my time at FDA to enliven the
epidemiology course for the first-year medical students.
I’ve been married to Bette Mullersman since 1982. We have two daughters and two grandsons (so far).
My wife and I continue to be enthralled by the people, the cultural bounty, and the beautiful mountainous terrain of the Central Appalachian region.
