Education Leaders
The Higher Education Teaching graduate certificate prepares and develops higher education educators to design and deliver curricula effectively to diverse student bodies. Current and future educators will increase their understanding of higher education, its various sectors, and theories and practices for effective teaching and learning.
The certificate includes core courses in:
- high-impact instruction practices
- adult learning theories
- higher education foundations
Students enroll in courses that prepare them to facilitate and assess evidence-based practices. The certificate also includes two electives, giving students the flexibility to choose a concentration area such as online teaching and learning or discipline-specific pedagogical practices.

The Higher Education Teaching graduate certificate program is designed to provide students with specific pedagogical and curriculum design tools for use in the higher education environment. Between 9 and 15 credit hours from this program may articulate to the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership (Higher Education Concentration)..
