The ETSU Online Allied Health degree completion program is designed for healthcare providers in medical fields such as healthcare administration, surgical technology, medical assisting, medical laboratory technology, cardiovascular technology, physical therapy assisting, occupational therapy assisting and other healthcare delivery roles. This accredited online Bachelor of Science in Allied Health is built for working professionals and accepts more associate's degree transfer credits than normally transfer to a four-year institution.

• Why should I pursue this program at ETSU?

  This fully online Allied Health B.S. degree completion program gives students who have already completed an associate of applied science (AAS) degree or certification in an allied health field an opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree. Students who have already completed their AAS degree or certificate may be awarded up to 30+ credit hours of major courses through the online degree completion program. This may allow students to complete their bachelor’s degree in as few as 30 credit hours of coursework (two semesters).

• What accreditations apply to this program?

  East Tennessee State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master’s, education specialist, and doctoral degrees. East Tennessee State University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Students must have completed an associate of applied science (AAS) degree or certification in an allied health field—such as medical assisting, medical laboratory technology, cardiovascular technology, physical therapy assistant, or occupational therapy assistant—to be eligible for the Allied Health, B.S., degree completion program.

• Are the courses for this program asynchronous or synchronous? 

  Because this program is designed with the working professional in mind, it is 100% online asynchronous. Students in this program have the flexibility to complete their coursework from wherever they are.

• Does this program require an internship or fieldwork? 

  No internship or fieldwork is required for this program.  

• Is this program designed to meet the needs of adults who work full-time and/or have family obligations?

  Yes. The Allied Health online B.S. degree completion program is designed to be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of students who work full-time or have familial obligations. Students may also choose to go part-time and take semesters off based on the demands of their busy lives.

   

  Unofficial transcript evaluations can be completed for prospective students for them to see exactly how many classes would be required for them to graduate from this program.   Additionally, ETSU's Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships offers scholarship information for all student levels. By submitting the Universal Scholarship Application, students can be considered for a variety of university scholarships.
