
HANSON, Holly
Mrs. Holly Hanson currently works with Roane State Community College, where she double as the Director of The Cumberland Business Incubator and as the Site Director for the Cumberland County campus; focusing on building a relationship with the community and building a community Site Support Team. An RSCC alum/booster group development is on the horizon.
Mrs. Holly Hanson began her career with Roane State Community College as the Director of the Cumberland Business Incubator (CBI) in February of 2013. She is a co-founder of an incubator in Rockford, Illinois, and brought the knowledge of how to connect with the community, build a volunteer workforce, develop programs and serve entrepreneurs as a Licensed Professional Business Coach. The CBI has developed a client base of 267 entrepreneurs and businesses and has provided 238 business oriented programs since February of 2013.
As Director of the CBI, Mrs. Holly Hanson developed a Maker Space with the proceeds of a grant awarded by the Small Business Administration. Additional equipment was added with proceeds from a 3-Star Grant. A Make Camp for youth was developed and delivered each summer for the past four years; and has been awarded a Verizon/NACCE grant to deliver a three week STEM camp for 50 middle school girls.
Her elementary education years were spent in Northern Illinois, just a few miles from the Wisconsin border, in the manufacturing city of Rockford, Illinois, except for a few years (4th – 6th grade) that were spent in the Netherlands at the International School of Amsterdam and local schools. She graduated from high school at the end of her junior year, heading to life in the dorm at Rockford College, now Rockford University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Mathematics, followed by a Master’s degree in Management from Cardinal Stritch University.
After earning her B.S., her first career took him to the machine tool and cutting tool industries where she worked for over 20 years within the Ingersoll International organizations as Software Development Engineer, Project Manager, Manager of IT, Manager of Purchasing, Manager of Engineering, Engineering Consultant and eventually as President of the international division.
She thereafter worked in the Financial Planning industry, earning Series 7 and Series 63 certifications and became a Certified Financial Planner, during which time she also started teaching Master level courses for the University of Phoenix online. She also worked as the Director of a Business and Professional Institute which included the Small Business Development Center and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center. After a few years away from coaching clients, she secured a Professional Business Coaching License and formed her own business providing business coaching and executive coaching to area businesses and executives.
Also, Holly currently serve on the Board of the following local organizations: Crossville Rotary (President Elect); Youth Achievement Foundation (Treasurer); Uplands Village (Board member, Operating Committee member, and Development Committee Chair); UU Church of Cookeville (President).
Her interest in the Community College Leadership program is to help him be as effective as possible in her current role as the Director of the Cumberland County campus.
