Cardiovascular Sciences
The Cardiovascular Sciences (CVSC) concentration covers a variety of research areas related to cardiac and vascular diseases. The concentration provides graduate students with focused development and training in the diverse fields of cardiovascular research. The research areas include but are not limited to molecular mechanisms of heart failure, neuroregulation of the heart, molecular basis of atherosclerosis, and renal disease and hypertension. Students graduating from the Biomedical Science Graduate program with a Cardiovascular Sciences concentration are provided the essential tools necessary to compete for academic, industrial or governmental positions. Research completed within ETSU’s Cardiovascular Sciences concentration will expand the current literature and translate into improved clinical care, reducing the social and economic cost of cardiovascular disease and the rate of cardiovascular-related mortality.
