Job Family Concept
The Facilities Services job family is responsible for all aspects of facilities services work activities and includes entry-level labor, skilled crafts and trades, supervisors, and management. This job family keeps our campuses and institutes fully functional. Facilities Services roles provide services to the university community and may be designated as essential personnel responsible for responding in emergency situations.
Roles
Facilities Services Buildings and GroundsResponsible for enhancing and maintaining buildings and grounds by providing custodial and landscaping services and/or the supervision and management of employees. |
Facilities Services General MaintenanceResponsible for providing a variety of general repair and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and grounds. |
Facilities Services TradesResponsible for specialized maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and grounds, and/or the supervision of employees. |
Facilities Services Design ProfessionalResponsible for organization and communication of campus and user needs for use on capital projects which include new construction, major maintenance, demolition, and renovation. It also includes project management concerning the design and construction of in-house campus projects. This role ensures that facilities meet campus needs and standards to ensure functionality and maintainability. The Design Professional provides consultation for all related activities of design, renovation, and construction of campus sites and buildings. |
Facilities Services ManagementResponsible for leadership, strategic direction, long-range planning, budget, and staff management for facilities services, operations, and departments. Responsible for 24 hour operations of university facilities and systems. This role accomplishes goals through overseeing their areas of responsibility, planning, managing resources, prioritizing, and directing the responsibilities of employees. |
