Scholarships
In-State Tuition at East Tennessee State University
No matter the state of residency, all students currently using a GI Bill® benefit (including family members) are eligible for the in-state tuition rate if they meet all three of the following criteria:
- Are residing in the state of Tennessee while attending
- Are attending a Tennessee Institute of Higher Learning; and
- Are using a chapter of the GI Bill®.
Tennessee STRONG Act
The STRONG Act is a "last-dollar" tuition reimbursement program for first-time degree seeking TN National Guard members. Contact our office for more information.
Yellow Ribbon Scholarship
The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) provides matching funds from the Department of Veterans Affairs as a supplement to the Post - 9/11 GI Bill®. Contact our office for more information on your eligibility.
Military Affiliated Student Scholarships

MAS Overtime Scholarship
- Available to veterans and current servicemembers that are not eligible for VA education benefits
- This scholarship is worth up to $1,500.00 per semester
- The student must provide a DD-214

MAS Child Scholarship
- Available to children of veterans and servicemembers
- Cannot have VA education benefits
- Provides up to $1,000.00 per semester
- Must provide proof of the veteran's service

- Available to spouse of veterans and servicemembers
- Cannot have VA education benefits
- Provides up to $1,000.00 per semester
- Must provide proof of the veteran's service
