College of Nursing Digital Signage Content Request
Content Guidelines
Content may only promote ETSU activities, events, information, and educational opportunities.
Campus wide content should only promote items that are relevant and/or accessible to the majority of students and/or faculty and staff, not a very limited subset of individuals.
For security reasons, all URLs and QR codes must link to an ETSU webpage.
Content can not overlap into multiple announcements (slides) as viewers may miss or confuse these messages.
When creating an announcement with photos, be sure the information is visible. A general recommendation for a well-designed announcement is to use no more than three photos per slide.
Try not to sacrifice your message for flashy design choices; make sure your message is clearly presented and easily understood.
Because our displays do not have audio capabilities, videos are not recommended unless they use open captions (captions added to the video that cannot be removed).
Acceptable Content
- Event information for upcoming activities sponsored or coordinated by ETSU
Event information for upcoming activities sponsored or coordinated by recognized alumni and student organizations/clubs
Event information for activities to be held in or at ETSU but hosted or sponsored by an unaffiliated approved organization
Changes in timing or location of regularly scheduled classroom activities or special events, including street closings and parking procedures
Results of academic competitions (congratulatory listing of winners)
Upcoming deadline information for nominations, scholarship applications, event reservations, etc., for approved programs
Information on new programs, courses, or services available to students or faculty
Announcements relating to significant student or faculty/staff achievements, awards or accomplishments
Welcoming statements for special guests or groups visiting ETSU
School, departmental, or building directories
Unacceptable Content
- No classified ads (cars/apartments/bicycles/computers, etc.)
No personal messages
No self-promotion
No personal events (i.e., a student holding an event that's not through an ETSU-affiliated organization)
No political statements relating to campus, local, statewide, or national elections
Artwork that isn't in a horizontal format (i.e., vertical flyers, square social media graphics, etc.)
Videos with individuals talking without captions
URLs or QR codes that link to a non-ETSU webpage
Videos/animations that are longer than 10 seconds
Recommended Best Practice
- Use PowerPoint to create a slide containing the information as you would like it to be presented for each slide according to the guidelines above. Attach that to your request.
- Use "CON Digital Signage Request" in the subject line of your message to expedite your request.
- Provide the start and end date for your signage to display, and name each campus where
it should be displayed. (Allandale, Main, Red Bank)
