Kevin obtained his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Music from Texas State University in 2011 followed by a Master’s of Marriage and Family Therapy from University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in 2014 and his PhD in Couple and Family Therapy from The University of Iowa in 2021. Over the past 10 years, Kevin has worked with a wide variety of clients (ranging from foster care to substance use as well as public/private insurance-based) and environments, which includes practicing in 4 different states (Nevada, Iowa, Florida, and Tennessee). Using a developmentally informed and compassion-focused model of therapy, Kevin attempts to make sure every client/individual that he works with knows they are worthy and full of value, no matter the barriers and trials that they have faced in their lives. His professional interests include aiding clients in navigating identity discover/transitions, addressing young adulthood, LGBTQIA specific needs including Trans affirming care, and pilot/veteran informed therapy models. Overall, Kevin enjoys creating a safe, compassionate, and hopeful environment for students to engage in authentic Self-identification. In his personal time, Kevin enjoys spending time with his spouse, friends, and dogs (Sox and Regina). Kevin also enjoys moments to travel to the remaining states that he has not visited and work on house projects.
