Dedicated to promote healthy lifestyles in the ETSU community
The Group Fitness program at Campus Recreation is designed and dedicated to promote healthy lifestyles in the ETSU community by providing a wide range of cardiovascular, weight training, flexibility, mind-body and endurance activities ranging from beginner to advanced level. Group fitness classes are as varied as their participants and there truly is a class for everyone.
The demands of each class are tuned to the abilities and desires of the participant. There is a inclusive program that will suit your needs from both a physical and psychological aspects.
Classes are open to ETSU students, faculty, staff, and CPA members.

Even though fitness class offerings vary from semester to semester, you will be able to find a variety of classes that often includes:
- Zumba, WERQ, Piloxing, and Buti Yoga
- Total Body Strength and Conditioning, HIIT, Abs
- Pilates, Yoga, Black Light Yoga
- Water Aerobics (Hydrofit), Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga, Aqua Yoga
- Indoor Cycle
- A variety of Martial Arts classes (Japanese Swordsmanship, Judo, Kung Fu)
- Hip Hop and Ballroom Dancing
All of our instructors are required to hold and maintain a nationally recognized certification or certificate and are CPR/AED certified.
All Group fitness classes are FREE to students who have paid their student activities fees, as well as all faculty/staff/alumni and spouse-domestic partner/dependent members who have paid membership fees to Campus Recreation. A person interested in taking a group fitness class does not need to pre-register for that class. Our classes are not open to the public.

Monday
Noon - 12:45pm Power Yoga:
This is an energetic, fast flowing class that will challenge your strength and stamina.
Advanced yoga poses will be introduced and explored, but always optional. This is
a safe and fun place to practice your arm balances and inversions or try them for
the first time. Register here!
Noon-12:45pm Tabata and Core:
This 45 minute class is 20 second intervals of high energy plyometrics, kickboxing,
sports conditioning drills, calisthenics and/or body weight core training followed
by 10 seconds of rest. Each block will be 4 minutes long. No equipment required. Register here!
4pm-5pm Yoga and Meditation:
Join us for an hour of relaxing, gentle yoga poses and guided meditation. This class
will focus on breathing techniques to calm and center the body. Register here!
5pm - 6pm Tabata and Lower Body:
This 45 minute class is 20 second intervals of high energy plyometrics, kickboxing,
sports conditioning drills, calisthenics and/or body weight lower body training followed
by 10 seconds of rest. Each block will be 4 minutes long. No equipment required. Register here!
6pm - 7pm BUTI Yoga:
Buti Yoga is a dynamic asana practice fused with primal movement, tribal dance, and
deep core engagement. Be ready to work! Register here!
Tuesday
7am-7:45am Flow Yoga:
Join us for this sunrise class. Poses will flow sweetly and smoothly with focus on
stretching, rest, and relaxation. No equipment required. Register here!
Noon-12:45pm Pilates:
Pilates is a method of conditioning that strengthens and tones muscles of the entire
body, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance, unites body and mind, and
creates a streamlined shape. Register here!
4pm-5pm Beginner Yoga:
This class is designed for the participant that has little to no experience with yoga.
Poses will be simple and explained fully. A variety of modifications will be shown. No
equipment required. Register here!
5pm-5:30pm Abs/Core:
Tone, strengthen, and tighten your core with a variety of abdominal and back exercises.
Class may include some standing core work as well as seated or floor work. No equipment

Wednesday
8am-9am Movement Fusion:
Get your day started with this class! You may see elements of Yoga, Pilates, Cardio
and everything in between. No equipment required. Register here!
Noon-12:45pm Yin Yoga:
This style of yoga is a slow-paced style with poses that are held for longer periods
of time. Yin yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues—the tendons,
fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving
flexibility. Register here!
5pm - 6pm Tabata and Upper Body:
This 45 minute class is 20 second intervals of high energy plyometrics, kickboxing,
sports conditioning drills, calisthenics and/or body weight upper body training followed
by 10 seconds of rest. Each block will be 4 minutes long. No equipment required. Register here!
5pm-6pm Flow Yoga:
Join us for this sweet flow class to end your day. Destress and relax mid week. Stretch,
calm, and center the mind and body. Register here!
Thursday
Noon-12:45pm HIIT:
This high intensity cardio class is desgined to get that heart rate up and burn those
calories. Be ready to sweat! No equipment required. Register here!
5pm - 6pm Tabata and Lower Body:
This 45 minute class is 20 second intervals of high energy plyometrics, kickboxing,
sports conditioning drills, calisthenics and/or body weight lower body training followed

Friday
Noon-12:45pm Chair Yoga:
This class is designed to be minimally challenging but maximally refreshing, with
a focus on breathing practices,basic yoga postures, stretching and restorative poses
all using a chair. Postures will include basic sitting poses for strength and flexibility.

4:30pm-5pm Abs/Core:

5pm-6pm HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training):
Get your weekend started right with this hour long cardio class. You will burn calories
with plyometrics, tabatas, body weight exercises, and more! No equipment required.
